MomBloggerAwards

Sometimes, I come across blogs that blow me away and all I want to do is give the author a blog award. I want to be able to give SPECIFIC awards to some of these blogs and waiting for an award to come my way for something specific so I can pass it on is taking forever! Haha.  So this is why I created Mumsy's Mom Blogger Awards!

If you are one of the recipients below, please feel free to pass the award if you feel like somebody is deserving of it.  My only request is that when you do pass this on, please indicate the REASON why the blog/author is deserving of the award and not just name the blog... It gives the award more meaning and it will definitely make it more special. :)

So here it is, the very first Mumsy's Mom Blogger Award recipients:

Drum roll please....

Awarded in October 2010:

Kristy from The Boy Named After a Car
Kristy inspired me to get serious about taking photographs.  After seeing the photos in her blog, I just had to ask her what type of camera she is using because the pictures are AMAZING.  Now, if finances will allow it, I would really love to have a DSLR for Christmas.  If not, I will just pray that I get it from Santa... I've been a good mumsy this year anyways! hehe.  You are doing an awesome job with the blog Kristy! :)

Ok, you HAVE to check out Kelly's blog.  Nadine is only 5 months old and after seeing her blog, I somewhat wished that she is already in pre-school so I can prepare her food.  Kelly's daughter is the luckiest kid on the block... having a mom prepare her meals that look like art!  Kelly is very artistic and has an eye for precious little details.  If she makes me lunch, I'm afraid I'd end up framing it instead of eating it.  I love it! :)

Sonya from {shutter}mama
To be honest, last night when I was preparing this list and deciding on who to give the awards to, I had a different blog on this slot until I stumbled upon Sonya's blog.  She takes fantastic photos with very artistic concepts.  I immediately bumped the other blog off this list to add her blog and I think I made the right decision by doing so.  Like Kristy's blog, Sonya's blog inspires me to take photography seriously.  I have a lot to learn but I think with the right inspiration, I can move forward. :)

Awarded in December 2010:

Erin from Samantha's Day
Erin is one of the most talented web designer in the blogosphere nowadays.  She has revamped the look of a lot of the blogs I read and each time she features them, I am always amazed and tell my self... I can't believe she actually made that!  She is definitely the go-to person if you feel like your blog needs a new look.

Jill from Meet the Dubiens
There is NOTHING Jill can't do.  Seriously.  She takes amazing photographs, cooks scrumptious and amazing looking food, creates crafty projects that everyone enjoys, and she does all of these while being a mom to two!  Yes, I think we've finally met Super Mom in the flesh!  If you find yourself looking for some fun and beautiful craft projects to do with your kids, her blog is the place to be!

Karli from The Bonnie 5
Karli takes BEAUTIFUL photos!  What I really love about her blog is that she is very generous in sharing her techniques on how she takes her photos.  She is a mom of three and she takes amazing photos of her gorgeous children too.  Her blog is one of those few photography blogs I frequent because it doesn't just inspire me to take better photos but also teaches me how to.  Thanks Karli.

Awarded in October 2010:

Eschelle from Mumfection
Eschelle has spunk.  I like reading her blog because she is honest and she writes without trying too hard. I've read some blogs wherein the writer try to be spunky and all the writer ends up accomplishing is sounding pretentious.  Yeah, sometimes it is fun to read those blogs too but if you want to read something REAL, check out Eschelle's blog.  Mumfection is one of my daily reads! :)

The Teething Mom may be controversial at times for having strong opinion and occasionally posting images that are quite repulsive.  Tina is not scared to be in your face and she will not apologize and bend down if you tell her you don't agree with her opinion or what she has to say.  She is after all entitled to her own opinions right?  There may be some who think that she is coming on too strong but the rest of the population love her blog for the same reason... If the Top Mommy Blog charts were American Idol, she'd win in a heartbeat, she is climbing it faster than any blogger I've seen!

Jess from I Rock So What
Ahhh... should I say more? Her blog title says it all.  Jess invented the word fierce.  She is the mother of all fierce mothers!  I LOVE her blog and like many, I've become one of her minions.  You know how some blogs have a lot of followers because of quid pro quo methods?  Jess is definitely not one of those shameless bloggers.  She has a good following because her blog is awesome, PERIOD.

Awarded in December 2010:

Kelli from Narragansett No. 7
Kelli is fierce because in my book, she is the BEST blog writer ever!  She should definitely write a book and get published.  Each time she has a new post, I take my time reading it and I don't just speed read it, I read Every. Single. Word.  My only wish is that she writes more often but it's ok, the wait is ALWAYS worth it!

Cassie from Baby Makes Two
Cassie is strength personified.  I love reading her blog about her life and how she is solely raising her adorable little man.  Occasionally, this craftsy blogger writes about and pours her heart out about her personal challenges about being a mom.  She is fierce because she never fails to draw emotions from her readers... Cassie keeps it real!

Why is Skye fierce? She is because she is versatile. I love Skye's blog because reading it shows how much she loves her precious daughter.  She reminds me of the little things we should be thankful for in life.  Her blog is a little bit of everything... from writing about her daily life, to reviews.  She manages to write about so many things while keeping a good balance.

Awarded in October 2010:

Vanita from After Bedtime Blog
I stumbled upon Vanita's blog a few weeks ago and I immediately fell in love.  Vanita is a mom of essence.  Every time I visit her blog, I learn a thing or two about parenting and everything else.  She inspires me to be a good mom and a strong mom.  A good and strong mom for my family and most especially a good and strong mom for Nadine.  Vanita is definitely a real life super mom.

Ashley from Ashley... Plus 3
I remember a while back when I stumbled upon Ashley's blog.  She was new to blogging back then and I am not sure but I like to think that I am her first commenter (please correct me if I am wrong).  I've seen this fantastic mom bloom from a newbie blogger to a superblogger!  It's amazing how she can be a wonderful mom and wife and at the same time blog the way she does.  She inspires me to be better at everything that I do... and do it with style! haha.  :)

L. is a blogging military spouse and her strength inspires me.  When I whine about little things about my hubby being too busy to watch Nadine so I can get a little break, I start thinking about her and all the other military families... then I realize how petty I am.  L also reminds me of how thankful I am for families like hers, they sacrifice family time and make do with any given situation just so our freedom is protected.  Her blog inspires me to have the courage and strength to be a more independent mom.

Awarded in December 2010:

Jess is expecting her first baby in a couple weeks.  She documents her pregnancy in her blog and I think that it is very inspiring that she does this with so much passion... and in her 3rd trimester!  She is a very strong individual and she inspires me to be the same.  Check out Here Comes the Sun, her little man will be making an appearance in a couple of weeks!

Bevin from All is Bright
Bevin is a mom of two very adorable and energetic boys.  I remember when I found out I was pregnant, I prayed that I have a girl coz I wouldn't know what to do with a boy... well, Bevin surely knows what to do and she makes it all look so easy and FUN, truly inspiring!   Read her blog and I promise that you will fall in love with her boys as well. :)

Twin Boys.  That pretty much says it all.  In this blog, Liz shares the challenges and joys of having twins and it's very inspiring that she makes it all look so easy.  Here I am, occasionally feeling like I will lose my mind with one and there she is, tackling motherhood like a pro!  Liz said that her blog is a little bit of her heart and I find that true.
